Today, we'll discuss the important topic of how to choose the right
Autoresponder services for your business.
One question that people often asks is, How do I know What Type of
Autoresponder program to Use?
As we learned in the first lesson, Autoresponders are automated email
marketing tools to use on your business and cut-down your work load
tremendously.
Basically, you can choose from two types of Autoresponders depending up on
your business need and your personal level of skill. The three main types
are,
Locally Hosted Autoresponders & Desktop Hosted
Autoresponders:
Some business owners prefer having a locally-hosted Autoresponder script
or desktop-hosted Autoresponder if their needs are small. Fore e.g. If you
have a small mailing list like 100 or so. You can use it send an automated
response to customer queries, support question or updates.
But if you are a business with large number of customers or leads
then using a desktop or local Autoresponders can be troublesome for the
following reasons.
Your emails may not reach the inbox of the recipients unless you white
list your domain with all the ISPs and email providers (a tedious task).
There is also a bigger danger of some idiot who has subscribed to your
list, forgets about it and then cries spam to your hosting service. This
means your website can get shut down as no one wants take risks even if
you are right.
A desktop or locally hosted Autoresponder is dependent on your desktop or
on your hosting service. So, the computer should be very reliable and
should always be connected to the internet. The computer also needs to
have a large capacity if you have a large mailing list.
Some hosting services will not allow individual Autoresponder script
installation. You need check this with them before you purchase one.
Remotely Hosted Autoresponders: A remotely-hosted Autoresponder can
be cheap as well as expensive according to your business needs. It�s great
for home businesses and start-ups who need the service but not the
heavy expense.
Most remotely hosted companies have flexible payment plans
Modern remotely hosted companies have special tie-ups and understanding
with large ISP's and other web mail services like AOL for better delivery.
Most of them are feature packed and can be customized to your business
needs.
