Do you know how some people struggle with coming up with ideas for articles? Well here is how to make it easy.
The wrong question and the right question
Since I write a weekly syndicated relationship column, I get asked all the time:
"How do you come up with a new idea every week?"
That's the wrong question. The right question is how do I pick one idea out of the many that are in front of me.
Once you get going and flowiing with this stuff, you learn to notice article ideas everywhere. My syndiczated column is limited to 650 words, so I like to say that I have learned to think in 650 words.
The main tip I can give you for noticing article ideas is to pay attention. Simply pay attention to what is happening around you. As you go through the day in your area of expertise, notice things you could write about. Notice what works and what doesn't. Pay attention to the frequently asked questions in your industry.
If you work with clients in any way, listen to them. My in office clients are accustomed to me reaching over to my desk, and while still listening to them, writing and article idea down so I do not forget it.
Pay attention, and you will soon have more than enough ideas.
