The purpose for writing articles is to establish yourself as an expert in your field, gain exposure to a larger audience, create traffic to your website and give potential prospects or clients, a sense of who you are. You may choose to write short articles 300- 500 words or longer ones 900 plus but no matter which you choose, it is important that your grammar, spelling, and sentence structure look professional.
I have included some great tips on how to prepare yourself to write an article, draft the article as well as how to submit your written work to different sites. Submit your article to as many places as you can, but have a look at the sites you are thinking about submitting to. Find out what their web page ranking is. Since all sites are not created equal, it is a good idea to utilize the ones that will optimize your exposure. To find out the ranking of any website, you can install the Google task bar to help you with this. It features a tool that automatically rates websites for you. Make sure you submit to a site that is over a 3.
Before you can write an article you need to have something to write about. Inspiration comes to folks in different ways. Some people like the shower, some like to drive a car. Others get inspired by listening to music or binaural beats. Journal writing seems to stimulate others but no matter what, don't lose a good idea because you are not prepared. Always carry either paper and pencil with you, a digital recorder or a cell phone so you can call home and leave your brainstorm .on your answering machine.
When you are ready to start writing, make sure that you have researched your topic well, and that you are writing for the reader, not yourself.
Some tips to try:
>Pretend you are speaking and read your article out loud to see if it sounds natural and flows well
>Pretend you are writing this for one person in an audience- really help them to ?get it?
>Reiterate your message many times throughout the piece
>Find a nice quiet space to write, where you will not be disturbed
